About Jarod Koopman
Jarod Koopman is the Executive Director of Cyber and Forensic Services for IRS-Criminal Investigation. He has been with the IRS since 2001, starting as Special Agent in Rochester, NY, then transferring to Washington, DC as a Senior Analyst within the Office of Refund Crimes. There he focused on virtual currency and identity theft before being selected as the Assistant Special Agent in charge for the Chicago Field Office. Jarod was promoted to Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Field Office taking on the oversight and direction of all criminal investigative activities in the state of Michigan. In 2016, he was named the first Director of Cybercrime for the Department of the Treasury IRS-Criminal Investigation, ultimately becoming the Executive Director of Cyber and Forensic Services for IRS-CI. In this role, Jarod oversees all global operations involving cyber and forensic activities, including policy, procedures, budget and investigative services.
